Another quickie, but I have a good reason... lol

Hello!  :) Tonight's "blue" moon is so beautiful and
so bright! I went out in the backyard to take some
photos which I haven't uploaded yet. I had the dog next
door barking and as I stepped in the house a bat
flew at my hair and hijacked my head for a
free ride... yikes!! Okay, I admit, I'm exaggerating...
it wasn't a bat... it was a moth... and I don't like either!!!
Those things creep me out! Now I'm hiding in my room
from it!! LOL ;)

I did the pics, below, last night before I slept.
I used the same photos and changed the effects a bit to
get 3 pretty cool looking pics. I think I'm going through
a second hippiehood ;)  All these wild colors remind
me of the 60's and 70's! Oh, the clothes back then... well,
I like comfort but don't dress all wildly and paisley any more.
Paisley...hmmm. I always liked paisley...reminded me of
a peacock! ;)

I hope you like this quickie post...I had to run from the
moth... yikes. ;)

Photo Art

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I thought I would
work on some photo art while resting. Here is a forest
and a water lily with some added textures. I like this effect. :)
Wishing you a peaceful and enchanting day.

Quickie post... phone art

Today I'm working on the bears... I have all the ears
gathered and ready to sew on the heads... lol. It's
nice to do something creative while listening to some
great music. It's great therapy. I'm feeling a bit sad today
so this is my escape... seems I need this every day.
Well, at least the sun is shining after this morning's rain
showers. It looks like the day will be nice after all.
I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday!

Below are some pictures I made on my iPhone drawing app.
I enjoy it, but the screen is so small and it's such a limited space
in which to work. Fun, nonetheless, however. :) It passes
time until sleep kicks in. ;)

Cute and Snuggly Bear

I will knit this guy a better scarf... but this is
the finished product... :)
Now to dig in my yarn stash!  ~ :)

A Polar Bear Facetime... :)

Now that all the arms and legs have their embroidered paws...
I have started on the faces. Adding the embroidery and glass
bead eyes. They are also getting some Tool for their ears!!! LOL
I love Tool! :) They do too!!! ;)

Embroidery Samples - Sewing

A few samples of machine embroidery I did years ago... I need
to make some stuff with some of these!! I don't think there is time to do
all the things I want to do in this lifetime.. I better get started!! :)

This is a nice cross stitch above done on my sewing machine.

This eagle and crow came out very nice. I use the rayon
embroidery thread on most projects. I had made my
son a t-shirt with 5 crows on it... for The Counting Crows.
I put dreadlocks on one to portray Adam Duritz... LOL!

More eagles... :)

A little Christmas Joy!

An Easter Chick

Baby duck and a butterfly.

Another Easter embroidery.

Cupid!!! :D

Close up of the Bald Eagle.

My machine even does other faces and things... in thread!
At least it doesn't fade after repeated washing like the iron-on
transfers. I've made many custom made shirts in the past as
gifts and to sell.

A peacock and Marilyn! I made my mother a nice
Marilyn Monroe pillow with different photos of her
face. My mom is a huge MM fan!

Can you guess who this is?

Okay... so I'm a huge Gavin Rossdale fan... lol  ;)

Polar Bear - Sewing Crafts

Yesterday, I was on a Polar Bear hunt...
and had success!! I found the bin I needed.
The end of August is already here! Hard to believe,
time flies, so I thought I better get to work on Christmas stuff.
These little guys are so adorable when finished.
I've made them for everyone in the family and all love them.
I did a craft show back in California and these were
my top seller, back then I made them fabric scarves.

My mom helped me cut out all of these polar bears
from cotton quilt batting. They are nice and cozy!
I have all the pieces, sewn and stuffed, now
for the embroidery on the face, a little blusher,
some ear muffs and some hand knit scarves and
they will be finished... after hand sewing all the parts
together, that is!! Who would want a polar bear part? lol

The scarf below is not right... it's too long and narrow. lol
You'll see the finished bear ASAP! :)

In the meantime... have a happy week ahead!

Much work to do... :)

Baking - Pecan Shortbread Cookies

I spent most of my day cleaning up the sewing room, shredding papers,
picking up fallen beads on the carpet... and hunting for polar bears!!
lol. I'll post about those later!
My son came in and said.. "Mom, make some cookies!" So,
having a wicked sweet tooth myself, I agreed. He wanted
chocolate chip cookies but I couldn't waste a perfectly good
dough on fake chips...LOL Who buys fake chocolate?
Apparently, his father did... sigh.
So, instead of making those, I decided on these. They were
quick and easy. Although I was a bit worried and wondering why
the dough wasn't sticking together... it was all floury. So I
thought to myself...hmm, this is not right, and added some
cold water, which wasn't in the recipe. Just a bit so it
would stick together into a log and then chilled for 20
minutes before slicing the dough. I had them all rolled up,
proceeded to clean up the mess I just made and there,
right behind my "dream machine"... a.k.a. Kitchen Aid Stand
Mixer... was a clump of something... hmmm...I was almost
afraid to touch it!!! Then I realized what it was... part of the
butter had flown out of the mixer when I started the mixing!!
LOL!!! Since it was about 1/4 cup of butter, covered in a bit
of brown sugar and flour, I decided to take those logs of dough
and dump them back in the bowl along with the flying butter ball.
:)  Well, I mixed them by hand, re-rolled the dough into logs and
stuck them back in the refrigerator... and voila!!! Yummy shortbread!
My son was quite happy! And so was my tooth... :P

Goodnight Moon, Goodnight Friends

And as the sky darkens, the moon bids goodnight...

Peek A Boo Moon

Tonight's half moon playing hide and seek... :)

When Nature Collides

I came across many lovely public domain photos and
decided to blend two of them together... "colliding" into one ;)
I like the effect of this and it inspired me to write these words
about friendship. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all humanity joined
together as one? It would be truly beautiful... no fighting, no wars,
no violence or hatred... just a blend of love and perfect harmony.
Something of true beauty...

Bitter Pill = A video poem

Here is a new video for "Bitter Pill" which is taken
from my latest book "Seasons of Change". I filmed
this stormy weather, which looked very ominous, with the
brisk changes in the cloud formations. It was really
eerie to watch this happening. To give this a little
extra drama, which was what I was feeling inside, I
decided to add some dramatic video effects.

In order to keep in line with the dark feel of the video,
I chose one of my darker poems to give it more feeling.
I hope you enjoy my creation.
I wish you a happy day, drama-free... and lovely! :)
Have a good weekend!

Humor

I love to laugh... I think it helps you get through life
much easier when you have a good attitude, not to mention
a good sense of humor. I like to find humor in everyday things.
I love the facial expressions of certain animals
and like to make up a little dialog for those funny photos,
especially monkeys, dogs and cows. They are full of facial
expressions and just make me smile, particularly the
chimpanzee! Chimps are so cute, but I don't think I would
want one as a pet. I've known people that have had
them and ...well, I just wouldn't want one. But they
are fun to look at!! LOL
I have been known to send funny pics of cows
and a "moo" as a comment on Myspace and Facebook. .
People actually have mooed back at me!!! It's so funny!!
I love it! I love to make people laugh or smile...
so, I have added a new category to my blog with my
humor, which can be a little bit crazy!! :D  Enjoy!!

All photos are courtesy of http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/...
A big thank you to the photographers for sharing these
with the public. Fantastic work!!! :)

New necklace just finished!

Today I have created this piece
using glass beads, shell and a
copper tone metal chain.

Crochet - Doilies... ;)

Here are a couple of doilies I made many years ago... I have always loved the Victorian era with the fashions and furnishings, homes... lol  I also love sunflowers!! :)
I need to find some time to do more crocheting and knitting, and use up my yarn stash...which,  by the way, will take me years to go through...:)

More necklaces made! :)

Yesterday and the evening before I had some time to work
on more pieces. I've used glass beads and metal in the following
necklaces. The one below can be worn 2 ways as shown.
I really like how this one turned out! :)

This one below I decided to add some more to
it. So I added the owl, and metal charms, as
well as more glass leaves...

I like the glass beads and colors in these below...
combined with the metal, they look very cool. :)
