This World

"This World" is a poem I wrote one day while thinking 

of all the problems we have in our daily lives around the 

world.  First touching on the loneliness one feels when 

a love has ended and pondering over life, thinking about

 the larger problems we have all around us and how are 

we to fix them?  We can start by showing some kindness 

and love in this world we all share. Kindness and a smile 

go a long way to cheer a person up and let them know 

that we can all spread this love around this planet.

Perhaps one day, things will start getting better and more 

world problems would be lessened with love and a simple

act of kindness, not hatred toward our fellow human beings.

This World

Standing at the edge of a cliff, looking out to sea

Trying to make sense of all this world around me

Love can mess you up inside and break your wounded heart

I feel as though this world we share is only falling apart 

So much hatred and anger in this world today

What happened to unconditional love, has it gone away

Our Earth is a wasteland of broken families and shattered dreams

Each day the tragic headlines just make me want to scream.

Death, destruction, war, greed, poverty, homeless people on the street

Hate crimes, suicide, rapes, murders, starving children begging at our feet.

What will it take to stop this self destruction we all face

Must we succumb to the inevitable annihilation of our human race

What can we do now to change this crumbling world that we've made

Love, respect, honesty, prayers, charity and helping one another each day

A smile, a hug, and sharing some love, isn't so difficult to do

What you choose to give out to the world, is that which comes back to you
