Empty
Eyes closed, my face toward the sky
Reaching out for the sun
To dry the tears that I've cried
Wanting to feel your warmth again
The gentle breeze whispers your name
Below the earth the roots take hold
Bracing themselves from the bitter cold
Imagining your arms embraced around me
From these thoughts I wish to flee
I was never to be, what you were to me
You're only a painful and distant memory
I will no longer shed a tear and no longer fear
I'm emptied of all the love I held inside
I choose to go my own way and to keep my pride.
