Fine Gauge Knit Scarf

Here is a blue knit scarf with a hint of gray tone. This is very
light-weight fabric, nice if you don't want too much bulk
around the neck. Suitable for a man or woman.

This scarf, I knit on a Toyota 901 4.5 mm (or standard gauge)
punch card manual machine. I will be knitting more items with
this machine in the coming months. I love the look of
the finer stitches. :)

Above shows both sides... 2 looks in one. :)
Thank you for stopping by! Have a
happy weekend!

Scarves

Here are 2 finished scarves. One custom order,
blue and red Fair Isle pattern knit by machine.

Below shows both sides of the scarf.

The Teal scarf was knit in a basketweave
pattern by hand with soft brushed acrylic yarn.

Nice and warm. :)
Winter is coming.

Projects from the Past...

As, I'm finishing up with the blocking of the 2 scarves
I've knit, one by hand, one by machine, I thought
I would post these projects I have sewn long ago.
A few wall quilts and a fancy baby bib.

Hand Knitting

Feeling a bit under the weather today, I decided to stay upstairs
and do some hand knitting. There's just something about it that
is so relaxing and peaceful... that's why I love art so much, almost
every form of art... it gives such a feeling of joy and accomplishment
to be creative and actually produce something that
gives such pleasure to the senses. I have a set of bamboo
knitting needles that I've been using today.
I just love the feel of the bamboo, the nice clicking of the needles,
instead of the clinking of metal to metal. I really enjoy the sound and
everything about hand-knitting. The knitting machine is great because
it saves a lot of time in doing certain knitting stitches or patterns, but
it just doesn't have that feeling of joy you get from hand-knitting. So,
I always like to pick up a pair of needles and start something, even if
I don't finish it! lol  I can't believe all the unfinished knitting projects
I never got around to doing... it's funny to see all these things that
I've forgotten about... Anyway, here is what I've been doing for the past
hour or so. I like the basket weave effect with the chunky yarn...
It's good to see so many of the younger generation taking up this
hobby... what a great thing to have at hand when you just want to
relax or be creative... I don't know yet what I'm knitting, most likely a
scarf, depending on how many skeins I have on hand. But for now
I need some sleep and morning comes TOO soon!! ;) Enjoy your day!

Autumn Breeze - New upcoming video poem.

Hello friends. I am currently on YouTube uploading
a brand new video poem I've created and written
today. For some reason the YouTube uploads
are very, very slow for the past few
months. Also when I choose the music it
takes another long amount of time to upload again...
so, it will be done in about 8 or 9 hours...
I may get it up tonight...very late. Or, most
likely, tomorrow. I hope you stop by to watch
when you have some free time. The title is
called Autumn Breeze. Have a great evening
and Wednesday... in the meantime..here is a
beautiful collage of photos I've used
from the public domain.

October Knits

The past few days I haven't been on the pc much. I've
been knitting and trying out some new stitches. Below are
some of the things I've been working on. Winter is coming!
The snow has melted but the chill is in the air!
Some of these are finished... some not so finished\!! lol

Wool blend scarf... soft and warm.

A cotton cloth... of some sort. ;)

A toque trio... my son got to choose which one
he wanted ... can you guess? Okay... he liked all
three. He refuses to wear store bought so I made
him these... :)

A wool blend scarf... cool stitch and tweed yarn.

A soft fuchsia color scarf - to - be. ;)

and another cotton thingie. ;)

Teal ... :) And I don't know what it will be yet. lol

Above will be another toque when
I'm done sewing it all up!

Above is a cotton dish towel or place mat... I haven't
decided yet! Maybe a bathroom face towel! :)

I decided to punch out a blank punch card with a new design
and I made a few holes in places where there shouldn't
have been...I'm out of practice! But...a little tape to
cover the mistakes and it worked out... it's just a sample
to see the stitch... I'll be unraveling it and I'll try a
sport weight yarn instead of the worsted weight.

So there you go... what I've been doing...OFF the pc!! lol

Enjoy your Sunday!!! Much love,
from me... :)

Update

Hello friends. How is everyone? I've been lagging on my posts to my blog. I've been doing some knitting, reading, browsing, cleaning, experimenting, unraveling, winding and much more... lol. I found my punch cards for my knitting machine but I'm not sure how to set the machine to use them in the best way for the pattern. For instance, today, I was beginning to knit SOMETHING... didn't know what yet. I just wanted to see how the pattern knit up... I tried this on 3 different cards but to no avail. I don't know if it's a tuck, slip, lace or weave stitch... lol. So, one piece came out with some type of pattern and then right in the middle it started knitting a vertical stripe and then more pattern afterwards... it looks like a form fitting knit dress, but... I made it in baby yarn and I don't think baby blue and white figure flattering dress would be too good on a baby!!! LOL  At least I got a laugh out of this when I told my mom on the phone. My back is so sore from struggling with that machine...I think I will rest tonight. I found a cool site while I was trying to find some pictures of the finished fabrics knit with the set of punch cards that go with my machine. I found the punch card pattern but no pics... but the cool site is called Scribd.... it's an online library of books and documents. I placed a subscription, costs more than getting a library card but you can read the books, etc., online or on your mobile devices.  No trips to the library and due date deadlines in the dead of winter... lol. I like to be warm. :) It snowed again overnight...maybe it never stopped, but the ground is white and it just warmed up enough to melt it off the streets. Tonight I think I will browse some more on the Scribd site and make up a catalog of books I want to read. I will post some pics of the things I've been knitting when I get them blocked and finished. In the meantime I will post a pic of the collected and unfinished work. lol  Enjoy your evening!! Sending love and hugs...and a smile of course!

Photo Art

Today I spent all day cleaning and organizing
my downstairs to be able to access my many fabrics
for upcoming sewing projects. I still have much to do
down there... but it's slowly coming along and I'm excited!
It will be nice to get in my sewing mood again! I have
been watching a movie tonight while I worked on the
following photos for this blog post.

The following are some public domain pics
that I have used to create this collection.

Franny's Pride & Joy - Photo Art

Here is some art I did for my dear friend Franny Brill.
This is her Gibson Les Paul Anniversary Edition electric
guitar. She used this guitar for the writing and composing
of her wonderful music. She's such a great & talented lady! :)
