Music Collage

I haven't been posting any photo art that I've done in
a very long time! So, I will be posting some as I come
across it in my files. This is one I made yesterday. I
hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it!

Thought Of You - A Poem and Art

Hello, wow, it's been a long time since I've posted
here! I have been dealing with some health issues
and I haven't been feeling so creative lately!  I'll
get back into the swing of things soon... I did a bit
of crocheting the past week or so... but nothing
too great to post here. Unfinished projects...that's all
I needed... lol ...I'm an expert at those!

Below is a new art I made the other day.

Below this photo is a poem I wrote quite
some time ago that I had not published yet...

Thought of You

I thought of you today
Like most days
You always cross my mind
How could I know
Love would be so blind
My heart will never be the same
I only have myself to blame
For falling for someone like you
Who would only rip my heart in two
Now the pieces left cannot be repaired
Love opportunities are there
But it has me running scared
Trying to keep my mind busy
But the tears still flow
I remember the love
That you once had shown
Making me feel so good inside
Until you crushed my pride
Took the very heart of me
And broke me down piece by piece
I am not the same woman I once was
I cannot find the smile I had
Each day I try so hard not to cry
But no matter how hard I try
All I can do is wonder why
Love is gone
All I want is to be free
Free from these memories
That keep killing me

Vintage Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve to all!

I don't know about you, but I just love the vintage style
Christmas, holiday and other images from years ago.
I've always loved the Victorian style of anything!

I collected some old vintage style Christmas images and
made them into collages. I like how they turned out.
I wanted to share my greetings with you and I hope
you have the best Christmas ever... It's hard
to believe another year has flown by!

I would like to thank each and every one of you for
taking the time to check out my blog and see the latest
happenings that are going on here with me. I appreciate
your friendship and support in my work.

Take care and may God Bless you all with much love,
 light, health, peace and happiness!

Wishing you all the best in 2014 and always!

Merry Christmas!

Debra

This week's projects

I took a little break from sewing today and made a photo
collage. Something different for Friday the 13th...

A set of coasters made from felt and fabric,
double thick with the felt... to match the place
mats I made last week!

Working with the felt scraps, I thought I would
try my hand at making some little flowers!!

So, now to think what will be next... hmmm....
:)
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!!

Peace & Love

Spring Cleaning

Hello friends,

It's been quite some time since I've posted here.
I have many projects I've been working on in my
home such as spring cleaning and getting rid of
the clutter. I have so much to do, it's just over-
whelming and I'm trying to do a little at a time.
I've taken a break from writing and arts until I
get my house in order. It will be wonderful when
I'm finished and everything is set up for creating
again. I'm excited and anxious to get things done.
In the meantime, I hope you are having a great
Spring so far. We were getting some snow flurries
here just last week. Today is gorgeous, I must
get my clothesline ready for the freshly washed
bedding, etc... nothing like line dried sheets, they
smell so good. :) Have a great weekend everyone.
Coffee sounds good right about now... :)

Spring is Here

Happy Spring! With all the snow still coming down,
it sure doesn't feel like Spring yet! Below are a couple
photos I've put together and added some effects to
blend them together and make them look more artsy
with a painted look. I have been enjoying working with
this type of art lately and have many more to do.
Hopefully soon, the snow and cold weather will
cease and we will have some snow drop
flowers blooming! Enjoy your day!

Artsy Angels

Lately I haven't been doing so much in the
crafts or art departments... I'm still discovering
new things in my photo program... different
techniques and effects. I did these yesterday
and thought I would share... Have a great
week ahead!  Be inspired and creative...

Flowers!

Happy Sunday, friends. I hope your day is a
beautiful one. Today we have sunshine in
Alberta, after last evening's snow fall. Spring
is definitely coming soon... and I can't wait!

I'm making a series of floral art, I've been using
many photos and mixing them together to make
the bouquets. Below are 2 samples, the
bottom photo has a bit more of an oil
painted look to it. Subtle change but
a nice effect, in my opinion.

Weekend Words & Angels

Hello friends, happy weekend! I haven't posted in quite some time, so
here I am!! :) I've had a busy week and have worked on a few things.
Still learning my new software and haven't been up to sewing or any
other projects since I lost my computer's drive. So for now I have
been working with what I have left. I sure do miss my pc...it ran
much faster and better than my laptops. But, until I can get it running
again, I am left to work with super slow systems, always freezing up
and acting like a zombie, lol  Slow to do anything. I'll be trying to clean
up the drives so I can function better. I had a lot of work on my pc that
I have lost. Just a word of advice, beware of the "cleaning" software,
it has "cleaned" too much and now the Windows OS is gone &  lastly,
everything on the drive. Major bummer, but, that's life, right?
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow... and carry onward.
Life has a funny and amazing way of putting things in your life, as
well as taking things away... but all in all, it seems to always work
out to be the best thing for yourself at the exact time you need it.
God has a way of taking care of everything we face in our lives and
it can make each of us, a much stronger, wiser and better person.

Have a beautiful weekend, friends.

Blessings, love, hugs and smiles, always,
Debra

Happy Sunday!

The weekend is sure flying by! We have a beautiful, sunny day here
today. I hope the snow melts and we have a longer Spring
this year. Sunshine is getting me in the mood to do more
sewing or something. I may end up working on my book a bit
today... I've been a bit down about my pc crashing... but
I'm thankful I still have my laptop so I can still access my
sites and all.

Below is a sample of one photo I did... I love Monet's art. He's
my favorite, and I wanted to do some photo art in a Monet-ish
sort of way. I love this, what do you think? I have some more
done and I am doing some different styles that I will have in my
new book of art and poetry. Much work to do on it yet!!

Have a lovely, creative and inspiring Sunday!
Love, Debra

Friday Frustration and a Quilt of Memories

I dislike pc problems, who doesn't? It's been a frustrating
week. I managed to see an actual drive screen on my pc
lastnight, it took most of the day, today, to just get BACK
to that screen... it is running very, very slow... sadly slow.
It's a nightmare. I have discovered that my entire C drive
is gone, well. most of it, along with my Windows 7...
no operating system to boot the thing up! I tried a program
called Ubuntu, which loads up the pc but I still can't get to
my files which were on the C: drive...and now happen to be
on the D drive for some odd reason... it's best not to use
those "clean up" pc programs, I've learned my lesson...
sometimes they clean it up a little TOO MUCH!!
 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ...so aggravating!

So, another day of not getting my hard drive to boot...
tomorrow is another day, thank God... I hope
I can do something with it... I've been so patient all week,
trying not to stress out. But I can only keep calm for
so long!!! (tearing hair out)  lol

Actually I cut my hair today... about 3 or more inches off...
it was halfway down my bum and I had begun to start sitting on it...
and not only that, but with winter and the static electricity
in the dry air... it drives me bonkers with all the clinging
it's doing, especially on my winter coat... ugh... no wonder
I hibernate in the winter, besides the bitter cold, I have to deal
with my unruly hair wrestling with my coat over which one
will win the fight to drive me insane!! hahaha...
Oh boy... rant time is over!! lol

So, I haven't been doing too much in the artsy fartsy area...
I drew a little last night...nothing that special so
I won't post it... lol   I've been watching CNN a lot,
or listening, while I work on the pc problems...
maybe that is stressing me out too... oops... rant.

I got a little creative the other night...
I toasted skewered marshmallows on my stove...
does that count??  lol
Maybe this post should have remained un-posted... ha!
Well, that's my update... let me try to find something to post... oh yes!

I found a photo today while searching for a Windows disc...
which I never found. This is a project I worked on years ago.
I am taking a pic of a pic...so  it's not too clear. But here is a quilt
I made special order. All the fabrics used in this except for the
borders and backing were scraps of fabrics that this lady had
in her fabric stash! Most were just tiny pieces, but I ironed out
each piece and cut them in triangles... I designed the quilt on
my computer with EQ5... I scanned all of the fabrics and arranged
them on the screen before I even started sewing it. There were
so many colors and fabrics to use, so it took a lot of time to
prepare, design and finally quilt it. It has some
embroidery done by machine on the border which is
hard to see, but I did a really nice font that I had purchased
for my machine. The photos are all old family photos for this
nice and wonderful lady, Polly. It was a gift for her 90th birthday
from her family. She had passed on not long after but was able to
enjoy it for awhile. Now the family passes it along so each family
member can enjoy it for some time in their homes. The
photos were printed on iron-on transfer paper which I
ironed on to the plain blocks... Everyone loved it and I was
quite proud of it myself. :) It's amazing
what a little scrap of fabric or more... can become!! :)
A treasured heirloom of all the fabric remnants from this
wonderful and beautiful soul... may she rest in peace
with love. She was a wonderful lady, very much
 loved and missed by all.

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday friends! It's very
cold and windy today, which makes
me want to stay indoors, curled up
with a good book, cup of coffee,
blanket and a nice fire. It makes me
dream of a beautiful house and garden
like the one below!!! lol  Well,
we can all dream now and then!

Enjoy your day, no matter
 what the weather!!
Love & smiles,
Debra

Decisions

Today I have been working on some art
for some undecided projects. I'm still thinking
of doing a book of photo art for download or
some greeting cards. I'm still undecided as
to which path I will take, maybe one, both or
none... lol  Well, that would be boring! ;)

In the above photo, I've combined 3 or more
pics for a nice Monet-ish effect. Oh, how I
love Monet... he truly inspires me in many of
my arts! Okay, time to get back to work...
Have a fabulous evening!

Photo Art

I had been working on a new video this past
week, but things came up and I had to put
the project on hold for now.

These are some photos I've been working with
using different backgrounds.

Below are trees using 2 photos combined
as well... I love the effect so I just made
a little comment out of it!

I have been battling alot of pain and
depression in the past several days.
I've had a terrible migraine that won't stop,
in addition to the normal everyday
FMS pain. I hope to feel better, soon!

 Have a happy Monday! :)

More Photo Art

I've been having some fun using photos and
blending them together to make some nice
photo art. I am practicing and trying some
different techniques. Below I've taken
a photo of a lovely tree and combined it
with different backgrounds and effects.
Which one do you like? The river bank is
made with 3 or more photos, one I had done
some artwork with, and then combined this
project with 2 others photos. I really like
them both. I love trees and sunflowers...
actually, all nature. Such great inspiration
to find in this beautiful world... imagine
and create. Have a wonderful Friday
evening and Saturday! I hope to hear some
feedback on my photo art so far... I plan on
putting a digital book together of my works
and would love to have your opinions!!

Until we meet again, blessings and love.
